Certified Financial Education Professional™(CFEP™)

CFEPTM, or Certified Financial Education Professional, is designed and administered by the American Institute of Financial Intelligence. It demonstrates proficiency with financial intelligence, or their FQ level. A CFEPTM is an individual who has been trained and certified through the Institute of Financial Intelligence and whose credentials have been accepted by professionals and educators throughout the United States. Once a professional has earned the CFEPTM, they are recognized for their willingness and effort to educate and enlighten others, whether through formal classroom or individual training sessions or by informally sharing important financial concepts with others.

FINRA Requirements:

1.  Complete the seven required online courses by studying the course material and passing each subject exam. Click here to register for the courses.

2.  Pass a final comprehensive exam.

3.  Complete the continuing education (CE) requirement. To maintain the status of CFEP™, the recipient needs to complete 10 hours of continuing education or teaching experience per year. Retaking and passing all seven exams can be used in lieu of the continuing education. You can document your CE hours by clicking the link here.

Certified in Financial Literacy™ (CinFL™)

CinFLTM, or Certified in Financial Literacy, is designed and administered by the American Institute of Financial Intelligence. It demonstrates proficiency with financial intelligence, or their FQ level. A person with a CinFL™ certification is an individual who has been trained and certified through the American Institute of Financial Intelligence and whose credentials have been accepted throughout the United States. With the CinFL™ certification credential, the recipient demonstrates that they possess the necessary knowledge to make sound and educated financial decisions. A person with a CinFL™ certification can easily upgrade to the CFEP™ certification by taking one more course on Leadership. We also offer younger people courses with level 1 to level 3 courses, which will build the knowledge base for the CinFL™ courses.

How to get the Certifications

  1. Create an account at cfep.fifpac.com.
  2. Select and pay for courses at the course catalog.
  3. Once you have paid, click “Start or resume course” to get started!
  4. Study the course material at your own pace and take the assessment at the end of each course. You need to score 70% or higher to demonstrate your proficiency of the subject matter and pass the course.
  5. After you have passed all the courses, take and pass the certification exam.
  6. The certificate will be awarded with your detail information. Your designee information will also be registered in our database. You can also order a official paper certificate.

Proper Usage of the Certification Names

Only two types of format are acceptable for each designation:

  • Certified in Financial Literacy™ or CinFL™
  • Certified Financial Education Professional™ or CFEP™

Certification Renewal and CE Requirements

  • CinFL™ or CFEP™ professionals must complete ongoing certification and CE requirements in order to maintain certification. These requirements may be completed online by logging in to website.
  • To maintain CinFL™ OR CFEP™ certification, CinFL™ OR CFEP™ professionals pay an annual certification fee of $49. In years when renewal may be completed solely with payment of the annual certification fee, CinFL™ OR CFEP™ professionals can pay the fee online by logging in to AIFI’s website. All requirements must be completed by the expiration date in order to avoid certification expiration and a late fee of $25. All fees are non-refundable.
  • CinFL™ or CFEP™ certification expires on the last day of the month indicated by the certification period. The expiration date can also be accessed by logging in to AIFI’s website.
